Youcef Abdi was born in Algeria & moved to Australiaas a teenager. He gained Australian Citizenship & switched his athletic allegiance in 2000.
Specialising in the 3000m Steeplechase he represented Australia at Commonwealth Games, Olympic Games & World Championships from 2000 to 2012. After retiring from athletics Youcef now plays in over-35's soccer competion.
