Brian Glover is well-known on the marathon circuit as the “old man in orange”, having walked over 100 marathons since his 70th birthday.
As a teenager in the UK Glover had been a racewalker covering distances up to 20 miles. He moved to Australia in his 20s & concentrated on his work & hobby as a musician. He began to walk again after his 50th birthday & gradually built up distances to include marathon & ultramarathon events.
Now in his 80s the distance has had to be scaled back, but he remains active in events up to 10km & has completed over 300 parkruns.
